Croc meters are preferred in friction color fastness tests performed by the method of color change in the sample as a result of rubbing the samples against the accompanying fabric and staining of the accompanying fabric.
The sample is rubbed against a dry, undyed, cotton companion fabric. The color retention rate of the accompanying fabric is determined according to the staining gray scale.
The device is available in automatic and manual models.
